St. Matthew's is a historic church in the Riverdale neighbourhood that is dedicated to following Jesus in the Anglican tradition. We love God and love our neighbours!
Our history in Riverdale goes back a long way! St. Matthew’s Anglican parish was established in 1874. First located on what is now Cumming Street, the growing congregation built a new church at 135 First Avenue, which opened on Easter Day, April 6, 1890. We have been here ever since!
We love our Riverdale neighbourhood and are glad to share in Jesus’ work of renewal and reconciliation here.

As Priest-in-Charge, Karen leads worship, preaching, and pastoral care at St. Matthew's. She is passionate about helping each person know that they are loved by God, and seeing them grow in love for God, their neighbours, and themselves in response. As Rector's Warden, Bill helps care for the life, ministry, and practical needs of our parish. Reach out to Bill for any property or financial matters.
